This year, seven outstanding postdoctoral researchers have been selected for the fellowship, which supports scholars at risk due to the war in Ukraine.

The University Alliance Ruhr is pleased to announce the recipients of the Fedor Stepun Fellowships 2025. This year, seven outstanding postdoctoral researchers have been selected for the fellowship, which supports scholars at risk due to the war in Ukraine. Each fellowship provides a monthly stipend of €1,800 for a six-month research stay within the UA Ruhr.

We sincerely thank the Zimin Foundation for generously funding the program. We are also proud that the University Alliance Ruhr, particularly through the contribution of Elena Resch from the Liaison Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, played a key role in shaping this initiative. The fellow selection was carried out by the newly established Early Career Researchers Board of the UA Ruhr.

The Fedor Stepun Fellowships are designed to offer researchers in the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Engineering fields a secure and supportive environment to continue their academic work and prepare proposals for long-term research funding.

The 2025 fellows are hosted across the three member universities of the UA Ruhr—Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University, and University of Duisburg-Essen. Together with their academic hosts, they will use their stay to advance research ideas and build sustainable academic careers in Germany.
